Come On Up To The House

Oh, hi guys.  Glad you stopped by.  I know this will be a little superfluous for those of you who have already been able to visit, but I've had a few requests for pictures of our new home.  And by few, I mean very few.  But I'm a lady of the people, so here you have it! Most of the pictures are from soon after we first moved in, so there has been some additional settling in accomplished, but you'll get the layout at least.
Pretend two sweet boys are waiting to greet you at the door; just to get the full effect.
Walk on in the front door into the living room.
Oh, my.  What is that stunning piece of furniture?  And I mean, literally, blinding.  We needed something to hold our grown-up TV, and someone just had to have a giant piece of yellow furniture.  That someone is me, just so that's clear. A special shout-out to craigslist, my parents' pick up truck, and the very condescending paint guy at Lowe's.
And speaking of growing up, we also bought our very first NEW piece of furniture: modular brown leather couch. Just picture us playing Tetris trying to figure out the best way to arrange all of the pieces.
Head on down the hallway.  On your right is the kitchen, and the door open in the hallway leads down to the basement.
The kitchen has a side door out to the porch and the perfect window for keeping an eye on the boys because apparently, that's my job.

I love an eat-in kitchen and a pantry!  I also love eclectic art: Goodwill, estate sale, and one of my Dad's paintings (clockwise from top).
Back in the hallway, you'll find our study/guest room on the left.
Across the hall is the bathroom, which features a skylight and evidence of Caelum messing with the toilet paper roll.
Next to the guest room is the boys' room.  I've hung up a few more decorations since these pictures were taken, but all that really matters is that the black-out curtains are up.
Zig-zag back across the hall to our bedroom.
Another piece of our modular couch is tucked away as a reading nook/place to pile folded clothes.

Our bathroom is pretty standard except for the crazy showerhead of a million settings.
Won't you join us down the stairs?  The door seen behind the boys leads into the garage and laundry area.
This tour is soo exciting!
Love these.  Thanks again, Cathy!
This is where we "play school."
We...have...so...much...STUFF.

The playroom in action.
That door leads to the backyard.
Quick peek into the garage to see my hotsy totsy washer and dryer...running, as usual.

Backyards: so nice for picnics.

And for running through the grass with a toilet paper roll made into a bee.  It's for science, folks.
Kim, the playhouse lives on.  And Owen can climb onto the roof now, "Like Jenna!"
And, for my own enjoyment, pictures of the garden.

Please note the zucchini growing. Sure, it's a squash plant, but I don't know what I'm doing. Either way, we've been getting some vegetables!
That completes the tour.  Why do I feel very susceptible to a break in now? Oh well.  Thanks for stopping by!
